Lisa – Kudos for your stand and action written about in the Daily A. Are you the same Lisa that is a friend of Gail Bowen (MCCormick) – we were her nextdoor neighbors in Raleigh Hills -she babysat for us. She also stayed in our Gearhart house when she was lifeguarding in CB. We now live permantly here in Gearhart.

I have two favorite hotels in Cannon Beach, The Tolovana Inn and The Sea Sprite at the Estuary.

The Tolovana Inn has a lot of rooms and they’re right on the beach. The prices range from quite expensive to very modest. We ususally book a studio room so there’s no separate bedroom but a quite comfy murphy bed in the living room. We like this style of room because it provides a full kitchen, fireplace and every room we’ve stayed in has great views looking out over the beach. On the moderate side, we’ve been able to book what they call a “Mountain View” room so there’s no view, no fireplace and no kitchen – but for around $70 a night, it’s fine for a short stay. This is also a pet-friendly hotel which is the reason we chose it to begin with, but this is our first choice for hotels in Cannon Beach even when we leave the dog at home.

The Sea Sprite at the Estuary is our other favorite accommodation. The location is top-notch and the room we’ve stayed in twice was just perfect for two people. The room had a full kitchen, a nice king bed and a living room with a fireplace. We liked that we could see the ocean right from our bed! The prices aren’t cheap, but if you’re looking for a great place to stay this is a quiet hotel with superb beach access and views. We stayed there over Christmas so the rates were at their peak, but they probably have lesser fees outside of holidays and summer months. I would HIGHLY recommend this place! Keep in mind this is not a pet-friendly hotel.

I'm a local here in Cannon Beach and when we have family in town we have two places that are a "must eat at" during their stay. For dinner, we always visit Bill's Tavern. They have a tavern side and a family-friendly side, we usually do the latter since we have a three-year-old. The waiters are friendly, the service is fast and the food is always perfect. I like their garden burger. For breakfast, it is our tradition to go downtown to The Pig N Pancake for a last morning breakfast before everyone heads back home. The service is always good, the food is warm and tasty. Sometimes we have to wait a minute or two for a table, but that's only because everyone else in Cannon Beach knows it's a great spot to eat.

Hey, I know Lisa! We hired her to use her special gift to talk with one of our cats… we found out some amazing information that we would no way of knowing otherwise. I think this article is much deserved… I’m just surprised that this, and the Daily Astorian article, is the only “press” I could find on her. There’s a whole lot of people missing out on a really intersting story and and an even more intersting person. I have referred my friends with pets to her website and I know I’ll use her services again in the future. She really does have “the gift” of being able to talk to animals… at least she did with mine. Thanks for writing this article about her… she definitely adds to the charm of your lovely town.

Living in Cannon Beach – with friends & family “out-of-town” – allows us to book and reserve rooms in various hotels, lodgings, inns, rental houses and other accommodation establishments – on a regular basis.

The prices vary, the quality varies, the amenities vary but, at the end of the day, everybody walks the same beach and sees the same sunsets over Haystack!

My latest family member to visit Cannon Beach was my 80 yr. old GrandMa. She has no car. We picked her up at the Kelso Amtrak Station – what a great drive along Hwy. 101.

Where did we find accommodations and lodgings for her? Well, for a fairly priced Hotel in Cannon Beach, Oregon – just a block-and-a-half from the beach – the Sea Breeze Court at (503) 436-2928 provided a clean and friendly stay, a good room selection, a 2 minute walk to the beach, and, of course, the requisite coffee machine for the morning “get-me-up”!

If you want to save money on hotels, rooms or lodging in Cannon Beach then, for reasonable rates, clean rooms and friendly service, try the Sea Breeze Court during your next stay at Cannon Beach. You’ll be happy with the money you saved!
